It was the Egyptians who used to decorate eggs and then give them as a gift. It was all before Christ, rituals with fertility and life simbolisms. After Jesus’s resurrection is when they started to represent easter. It is believed that they were decorated to await for Easter monday when they were given as a gift…as the egyptians used to do. But as all traditions, with time the spiral has become so big that it has come to the point were a surprising bunny plays to hide chocolate eggs for children.
